Technical Passport
Technical passport of a machine, device (technical equipment) is an operating document necessary for circulation of equipment or device at EAEU market.
According to TR CU 032/2013 technical passport is the main document for identification of equipment.
Technical passport of a device (equipment) is a type of technical documentation which reflects all information on manufactured product, its operating conditions, specifications and parameters. Technical passport must be issued for each item of manufactured products (Machine, Equipment, High Pressure device). It accompanies the product throughout its operational service life till decommissioning. At the end of operational service life equipment is decommissioned together with the passport.
Technical passport should contain the following sections:
- technical information of device or equipment
- its configuration, information about the components
- resource consumption by the device
- its operational service life
- information of EAC Certificate/Declaration of Conformity
Technical Passport must contain information on the date of expiry, storage time, conservation, package, acceptance tests, the necessary information about operation, special characteristics, including information on recycling of the equipment.
Besides, every Technical Passport must contain information about manufacturer’s (supplier) rights and warranty obligations in accordance with the applicable laws.
Technical Passport is also required for product certification. It provides certification authorities with all necessary information about the product, its features, specifications, etc. On the basis of this information the manufacturer/user gets permit for using the product.
Technical Passport of a Pressure Vessel
A special passport for pressure vessel must be included in the operating documents for pressure vessels. It is different from technical passports for other technical devices in terms of content and execution.
Pressure vessel passport must contain information in compliance with requirements of regulation TR CU 032/2013:
- general information:
- name and address of manufacturer;
- date of manufacture (DD/MM/YYYY);
- serial number;
- estimated operational service life;
- information on specifications and parameters:
- operating, design, testing pressure, MPa (kgs/cm2);
- operating temperature of process medium, °C;
- design wall temperature, °C;
- minimum allowed wall temperature, °C;
- designation of process medium;
- process medium group (Fluid Group);
- corrosion (erosion) allowance, mm;
- capacity/volume, m3;
- empty weight, kg;
- maximum process medium weight, kg;
- information about main parts (including quantity, dimensions, material, welding specification);
- information about nozzles, flanges, covers, fasteners (including quantity, dimensions, material);
- information about protective units, main fittings, measurement devices, safety valves (including quantity, nominal diameter DN, calculated pressure PN, material of enclosure, place of installation);
- patterns, schemes, drawings of vessel and other documents (consolidated list of factory modifications, packing list, specification indicating the main dimensions of assembly units etc.);
- other information required for safe operation of a vessel.
Technical passport of a pressure vessel may be developed by the manufacturer or a dedicated third party organization.
Technical Passport of a Boiler
Technical passport of a steam, electric, hot-water or gas boiler must be worked out as part of operating documentation for the equipment.
According to PB 10-574-03 “Rules for installation and safe operation of electric boilers and electric boiler houses”, every boiler must be delivered by the manufacturer to customer accompanied with the passport executed in accordance with the established procedure.
A boiler passport must contain the information in compliance with requirements of TR CU 032/2013:
- general information:
- name and address of manufacturer;
- date of manufacture;
- type (model);
- designation and assignment
- serial number;
- estimated operational service life;
- estimated useful life of boiler and its main parts;
- estimated amount of startups;
- dimensions of boiler and its elements;
- specifications and parameters:
- estimated type of fuel and its heat value, MJ/kg (kcal/kg);
- fuel consumption, m3/h (t/p/h)
- type and characteristics of furnace (burners);
- design, operating, test pressure, MPa (kgs/cm2);
- maximum allowed pressure resistance of boiler at nominal output, MPa (kgs/cm2);
- minimum allowed pressure at nominal temperature, MPa (kgs/cm2);
- nominal steam temperature at boiler output, °C;
- estimated temperature of superheated steam (liquid), °C;
- nominal fluid temperature at boiler input, °C;
- nominal and maximum fluid temperature at boiler output, °C;
- nominal, minimum and maximum allowed boiler steaming capacity, t/ h;
- nominal, minimum and maximum heating capacity, kW;
- boiler heating and main parts surface, m2;
- volume, m3;
- minimum and maximum allowed fluid flow rate, m3/h;

- information about fluid level gage (including type, amount, installation location);
- information about main fittings (including quantity, nominal diameter, rated pressure, working parameters, material of enclosure, place of installation);
- information about main devices for measuring, operation, alarm, adjustment and automatic protection (including quantity, type (brand));
- information about pumps (including type, quantity, working parameters, drive type);
- information about the main components of a boiler made of sheet steel (including quantity, dimensions, material, welding and heating);
- information about the main components of a boiler made of pipes (including quantity, dimensions, material, welding and heating);
- information about nozzles, covers, heads, reducers, flanges (including quantity, dimensions, material);
- information about heat carriers (including name, maximum allowed temperature for use, temperature of self-ignition in open area, hardening temperature, boiling temperature, change (curve) of boiling temperature depending on pressure, other information influencing safe exploitation);
